Deep rejuvenation without ablation: how this cutting-edge technology stimulates collagen and elastin to transform your skin from within. Guide prepared by Dr. Lindsay Sancho, specialist in advanced aesthetic medicine at Daley Clinic.
A photostimulation technology that activates your skin’s natural repair mechanisms — without removing any tissue.
The 5th generation regenerative laser is a non-ablative medical treatment: instead of vaporizing layers of skin like CO2 does, it delivers controlled light energy into the deep layers of the dermis, activating the cells responsible for producing collagen and elastin.
What sets 5th generation equipment apart is precision: these devices combine multiple wavelengths, real-time temperature intelligence, and micro-emission patterns that maximize bio-stimulation while minimizing the risk of surface irritation.
In simple terms: regenerative laser tells your skin to repair itself. It doesn’t remove skin — it convinces it to produce what it gradually stops making over time: firmness, luminosity, and even texture.
Four areas where regenerative laser delivers its best results.
Stimulates the synthesis of type I and III collagen — the proteins responsible for keeping skin firm and compact. Results are progressive and natural, improving over 3 to 6 months after each treatment series.
Photostimulation activates cellular turnover, eliminating dullness caused by accumulated dead cells. The result is brighter skin, a more even tone, and a natural “glow” effect.
By filling the dermis with new collagen and elastin, superficial expression lines visibly soften. Ideal as a preventive treatment or as a complement to facial harmonization.
Contraction of peripheral collagen visually reduces pore size and smooths surface irregularities — with no peeling or downtime period.
One of the biggest advantages of regenerative laser is its broad safety profile: it works on virtually all skin types.
Key advantage: unlike fractional CO2, regenerative laser is safe on tanned or darker skin tones without the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation — ideal for the tropical climate of Costa Rica.
A comfortable, fast procedure that in most cases requires no anesthesia.
The session begins with a deep cleanse of the treatment area. The skin condition is reviewed, focus zones are confirmed, and the device parameters are adjusted to your skin type and specific goal.
The device handpiece glides gently over the skin emitting energy pulses. Most people feel moderate warmth and a slight tingling sensation, similar to a hot stone. The duration varies between 20 and 40 minutes depending on the area treated.
After the session, a calming serum and high-protection sunscreen are applied. The skin may look slightly pink for 1 to 4 hours, but you can resume your daily activities immediately.
For optimal results, a protocol of 4 to 6 sessions spaced 3 to 4 weeks apart is recommended. Some people notice improvement from the second session; the full transformation consolidates in the months following the cycle.
One of the greatest advantages of this treatment: downtime is minimal.
The skin may look slightly red or feel warm, like after mild sun exposure. This effect fades within a few hours. You can go out normally with sunscreen applied.
Many people notice the skin feels more “tight” and luminous from day one. There are no crusts, wounds, or significant peeling. Keep the area moisturized and wear sunscreen.
New collagen takes weeks to mature. Results improve gradually: the skin looks firmer, more luminous and with better texture. Changes consolidate with each session in the protocol.
Simple habits that maximize results and protect your investment.
SPF 50+ is mandatory throughout the entire protocol. In Costa Rica the sun is intense year-round: without adequate protection, results can be reversed by UV radiation.
Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer. Stimulated skin needs moisture to build collagen efficiently. Avoid products with acids (AHA, BHA, retinol) for the first 48 hours.
Mechanical and chemical exfoliants should be paused for the first 72 hours post-session. They can interfere with the active bio-stimulation process in the dermis.
Sauna, steam bath, jacuzzi, or intense exercise can intensify redness. Moderate activities are fine; just avoid high-heat environments on the day of treatment.
You can return to makeup the next day. If you need to go out the same day, only apply mineral sunscreen and avoid products with strong colorants or fragrances.
Two different technologies with very different goals and recovery profiles. Neither is “better” — it depends on what each patient is looking for.
Many Daley Clinic patients combine both technologies: CO2 for a more intensive renewal, and regenerative laser for ongoing maintenance. Dr. Lindsay will recommend the best protocol for your goals during your evaluation.
The first step is a skin assessment to define the ideal protocol for your skin type and goals.
We evaluate your skin type, goals, and current skin condition to design the exact protocol.
Number of sessions, frequency, and complementary treatments tailored to your specific case.
Each session lasts 20 to 40 minutes. You can return to your daily routine immediately after.
We monitor your progress and adjust the protocol as needed to achieve the best possible results.
